EXPLANATION:

The normal bladder of a healthy adult has a capacity of about 300-400 ml. The bladder capacity changes over age, as compared to 30-50 ml in children. The bladder is provided with pelvic floor muscles and the detrusor muscle that responds to contractility.

As liquid fills into the bladder, the muscles sense it. The measure of bladder pressure is a measure of bladder health. As one ages, the threshold of this pressure decreases.
