Answer:-

Given:

Initial Pressure of a gas (P1) = 2 atm

Initial Volume (V1) = 20 L

Final Pressure (P2) = 3 atm.

Final Volume (V2) = ?

We know that,

Boyle's law of gases states that at constant temperature the pressure of a gas is inversely proportional to it's Volume.

→ P ∝ 1/V

→ PV = k (Constant)

→ P1V1 = P2V2

→ (2) * (20) = (3) * V2

→ 40/3 = V2

→ 13.33 L = V2

Hence, the volume of the gas decreases to 13.33 L.
