Hey

Pride goes before a fall, a sarcasm to the action of Mrs. Packletide, is in fact a proverb that says -> " If you're too conceited or self-important, something will surely happen to make you look foolish " ..

However, that doth not mean that the people surrounding you has to be know of that "something" .. For Mrs. Packletide, it was the shameful truth that the fame she earned was all 'cause of the frail tiger who died of Heart attack and not her gun. She surely shot at him but her aim was too good to hit him ( ironical statement ) ; rather, it went and shot the Goat while, the weak, already dying tiger died of heart attack...

Alarmed Miss Mebbin could use this opportunity to her own favor and thus she blackmailed Six hundred and eighty rupees out of her. While Mrs Packletide aimed at Earning the appreciations and competing with Loona Bimberton, she earned herself a depreciation, and an idiotic self-image as to how she fell victim to The Blackmailing for a Stupid Reason. This is indeed a justification of the above said proverb which highlights how Foolish Mrs Packletide was to earn pride at the cost of a fall ✓✓ Now, the only response she knew to the question regarding her newly inhibited interest in Big-Game shooting was " The incidental expenses are so heavy " which judges the Trouble she'd caused herself for falling greedy to Envy.

Tada ..Hope this helps ✓
