the gap between prime meridian and India standard meridian (IST) is +5h 30 min

for example the time at prime meridian is 12:00 pm (England)

then time in india is ....

12:00+ 5h 30 min

so the time in India is 5:30 pm

in this way we calculate the time for which the prime meridian is the base

the prime meridian is at 180°

for each meridian there is 4 min time gap..
