Oct 2 2014......................our prime minister started it on a mission to clean Indian cities and villages. It was started during Indian freedom struggle by our father of nation. later on it was forgotten

in 2014 on Gandhi jaynthi to recreate what Gandhi imagined modi started it again. every year a survey is conducted to check the improvement in hygiene and cleanisess and rankings are also give to cities and villages till some years candhigrah was cleanest city and from last 2 years Mysuru *city in Karnataka is the cleanest
