Given :-

  • Principal (P) = ₹5000
  • Amount (A) = ₹6450
  • Simple Interest (SI) = A - P = ₹(6450 - 5000) = ₹1450
  • Rate (R) = 12% per annum

To Find :-

  • Time (T)

Solution :-

We know that,

 \sf \fbox {Time =  \dfrac{100 \times SI}{P \times R}}

 \sf T =  \frac{100 \times 1450}{5000 \times 12}

Canceling the zeros,

 \sf T =  \frac{1\cancel{00} \times 145\cancel{0}}{5 \cancel{00} \cancel{0} \times 12}

 \sf T = \frac{ \cancel{145}}{ \cancel{5} \times 12}

 \sf T = \frac{29}{12}

 \sf T = 2.5

Hence the time period is 2.5 years or 2 years and 5 months.
