Dear Student,
Print did help in the spread of ideas , but the people did not only read the books that advocated reason and rationality but they were also exposed to monarchical and church propaganda which too influenced their thinking.
They were not influenced directly with all what they read and saw. They accepted some ideas and rejected the others. They interpreted things on their own way. Thus we can say that print did not directly shaped their mind but opened up the possibility of thinking differently.
