Let the principal amount be x

Priyanshu:

Invested in a car whose value depreciates every year by 10%

Amount = x(1 - 0.1)²

Amount = x(0.9)²

Amount = 0.81x

Manan:

Invested in a land whose value appreciates every year by 15%.

Amount = x(1 + 0.15)²

Amount = x(1.15)²

Amount = 1.3225x

Solve x:

The difference is Rs 410000

1.3225x - 0.81x = 410000

0.5125x = 410000

x = Rs 800,000

Answer: The sum of money invested was Rs 800,000
