Total Two Digits Numbers (10 to 99) = 90

Multiples of 5 between 10 to 99 = 18  (10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95)

Hence Probability of Getting Multiple of 5 between two digit number = \frac{18}{90}  = \frac{1}{5}

Given : two digit number is written down at random is

To Find : The probability of getting a multiple of 5

Solution:

two digit numbers are from 10  to 99

There are 90   ,  2 digit numbers

Multiple of 5 if ends with 0 or 5

10 , 20 , 30 , 40 , 50 , 60 , 70 , 80 , 90

15 , 25 , 35 , 45 , 55 , 65  , 75 , 85 , 95

18  numbers are Divisible by 5

Hence probability  = 18/90  = 1/5

The probability of getting a multiple of 5 if two digit number is written down at random is 1/5
