Problem 1.03. An electron is emitted with a velocity of
5 x 10⁶m/s . It is accelerated by an electric field in
the direction of initial velocity at 3 x 10¹⁴ m/s². If its
final velocity is 7x 10⁶ m/s, calculate the time taken by the electron to attain the final velocity and the distance covered by it.

Explanation:

Initial velocity of the electron is u =5×104 m/s

Acceleration of the electron is a=104 m/s2

From first equation of motion,

v=u+at

2u=u+at

t=u/a=(5×104)/(104)=5s
