PROBLEM 12. A train is travelling at a speed of
90 km h-'. Brakes are applied so as to produce a uniform
acceleration of - 0.5 m 2. Find how far the train will
go before it is brought to rest.

Put

v = 0

u = 90 km/ hr ( Convert to m/s by Multiplying 5/18)

u= 25 m/s

a = -0.5m/s2 ( put with sign)

Putting Values we get

s = 625 m
