Cities are growing rapidly not only in population but also in terms of their importance and scale of problems. Urban growth has both positive and negative dimensions of development. Cities are become centre of the production consumption and all economic affairs but because of the rapid growth of the urban population creating several environmental and social problems. Basically the magnets like basic facilities, population growth, transport facilities, industrial development, employment opportunities and governance etc. are behind the physical growth of a city. In developing world and India urbanization has now become a permanent and unavoidable phenomenon. The urban areas are become centres for not only economic activities, but most of the basic services, amenities and facilities they are become more urban centric. Urban centre become a magnet due to the diversity in function, which pulls people from all regions, religion, castes, culture and income. Livelihood is easy in urban areas because of basic services facilities and job opportunities but in the rural areas the agriculture sector is declining and is not able to provide a livelihood to the rural population and there for rural to urban migration is rampant. Urban migration putting pressure on the existing geographical space, facilities, services and the natural environment of the urban areas
