Squamous epithelial cells: Rinse the mouth with water. Using a wooden toothpick, scrape gently the inner lining of the cheek and transfer the scraping to a drop of distilled water on the centre of a glass slide. Add a drop of 1% methylene blue, leave to stain for a minute.
