Question :- find the Product of digit in the tenths place and thousandths place of 15.246 ?

Solution :-

writing in expand form we get,

→ 15.246 = 1 * 10 + 5 * 1 + 2 * (1/10) + 4 * (1/00) + 6 * (1/1000)

which is equal to ,

→ 1 tens + 5 ones + 2 tenths + 4 hundredths + 6 thousandths .

Conclusion :-

Place values on Left side of point are :-

  • Million .
  • Hundred thousands .
  • Ten thousands .
  • Thousands .
  • Hundreds.
  • Tens.
  • Ones.

Place values on the right side of point are :-

  • Tenths. (1/10)
  • Hundredths. (1/100)
  • Thousandths. (1/1000)
  • Ten thousandths. (1/1000) .

Therefore,

Digit at tenths Place = 2

→ Digit at thousandths Place = 6

Hence,

Product of Digit at tenths Place and Digit at thousandths Place = 2 * 6 = 12 . (Ans.)
