The story leela's friend
Explanation:
- In this story, Sidda is unfairly criticised for taking Leela’s chain despite his honesty he knows that Leela’s parents do not recognise him.
- Sidda thinks he needs to escape. This is necessary as Narayan may be implying that slaves and their name meant very little to those who hired assistants.
- Without proof Leela’s parents blame Sidda.
- The fact that Sidda is not trusted by Leela’s parents may be important as it not only suggests that the problem of the class is taking a part in Leela’s arrest but social order is holding its part.
- Something obvious when the policemen bring Sidda to Leela’s parents. He approved that others have found him guilty. He knows that though nobody can prove it was him who took the chain.
- These problems were very little. He is arrested by the police.
