\textbf{Solution:}

Given: 2+2 = 4

To prove : 2+2 = 5

PROOF:

=> 20 - 20 = 25 - 25 \\=> 5 \times 4 - 5 \times 4 = 5 \times 5 - 5 \times 5 \\=>  4(5 - 5) = 5(5 - 5)

On cancelling (5 - 5) both sides, we get;

=> 4 = 5

we know that

2 + 2 = 4

•°• 2 + 2 = 5 { 4 = 5 , proved above}

Hence, it is proved.

________________

Now, come to the mistakes done in the above equation . We cannot cancel (5 - 5) in

=> 4(5 - 5) = 5(5 - 5)

because both the equation are not balanced. It cannot be cancelled. It is just an prank to confuse someone.

Answer :

We know that 2 + 2 = 4

Now , we also know that ( - 20 ) can be written in the form ( 16 - 36 ) and ( 25 - 45 )

So ,

- 20 = - 20

16 - 36 = 25 - 45

4² - 4 * 9 = 5² - 9 * 5

Add both sides by ( 9 / 2 )²

4² - ( 4 * 9 ) + ( 9 / 2 )² = 5² - ( 9 * 5 ) + ( 9 / 2 )²

[ Since ( 2 * 4 * 9/2 ) = ( 4 * 9 ) ]

4² - ( 2 * 4 * 9/2 ) + ( 9/2 )² = 5² - ( 2 * 5 * 9/2 ) + ( 9/2 )²

This equation is in the form a² + 2 * a * b + b² = ( a + b )²

So,

[ 4 - ( 9/2) ]² = [ 5 - ( 9/2) ]²

Taking square roots on both sides

4 - ( 9/2) = 5 - ( 9/2)

4 = 5

as we know 2 + 2 = 4 and it is proven that 4 = 5 , therefore 2 + 2 = 5
