proof that sound need a material medium to travel ?

Hii,

Here are two examples:

1) we see children playing with toy telephone. It is made of of two tin cans joined with a string or thread and the sound produced inside one can , can be heard in the second one . Here it shows that the sound travel through thread from one side to another and the thread is a solid


2) if we put a electric bell inside a container and ring it then we can hear the sound outside also because there is air inside it which is a medium of sound in which it can travel . But if we produce a vacuum inside the container then we would not be able to hear any sound because there is no air or medium in which the sound can travel. Same is in the case of space , there is also no air therefore sound can't be heard ....
