Answer:
To find the acceleration distance of velocity when time t is not given.
Relationship between u, v, a and s.
As we know that the first equation of motion says that:
v = u + at
So, we have to take the first equation of motion to prove the third equation of motion.
v = u + at
and
s = u + v / 2 × t
[ °.° Distance travelled = average velocity × time ]
By rearranging these two equations
We have
v - u = at ----------(1)
u + v = 2s/t ------(2)
Now,
multiplying equation 1 and equation 2, we get
=> (v - u) × (v + u) = at × 2s/t
=> v² - u² = 2as
Thus, velocity acquired by a body in travelling a distance can be found out from the equation.
