(45 × 100) ÷ 100 = 45; or if we divide and then multiply the quotient by the same number. We will explain below why that is true . Because of this property we say that multiplication and division are inverse operations.

a. Any number divided by 1 the answer is the number itself.

b. Any number divided by itself the answer is 1

c. Zero divided by any number is 0
