It means that when the elements are arranged in the order of their increasing atomic number then the chemical and physical properties of the element are repeated after certain interval of time ....This is also called as Modern periodic law.for eg: The properties of Li and sodium are similar so they are placed in the same group and like waise these properties are repeated for the other elements also
