Prove: 2 (√10 - 2√5) (√10 + 2√5) = 2[ (10)² - (2√5)² ]

The Above statement is right, But I didn't understand the concept of multiplying √10 × √10 = 10²

Can you tell me, That concept, It is given in Maths Book. See Attachment.
