imagine the diagram as i say........
draw a co-ordinate axes.
mark any 2 points on the axes.P1=(X1,Y1);P2=(X2,Y2).
draw a horizontal line passing through P2.
draw a vertical line passing through P1.
let them both meet at a point making 90°
                                             P1
                                            I
                                            I
                                            I
                                            I
P2                                       I
______________________I
JOIN P1 AND P2
IF YOU SEE CO-ORDINATE AXIS,
THE LENGTH OF THE LINE THROUGH P1=Y1-Y2
LENGTH OF LINE PASSING THROUGH P2=X1-X2
THEREFORE THE LENGTH OF LINE JOINING P1 AND P2=√(X1-X2)²+(Y1-Y2)²
BY PYTHAGORAS THEOREM.
HOPE THIS HELPS YOU PLEASE MARK AS BEST
