let us assume that 1/2+√3 is rational.
So 1/2 can be expressed in p/q form.

1/2+√3=p/q
√3= p/q-1/2
In this equation left side is an irrational number and right side rational number,which is contradictory,so 1/2+√3 is not a rational number but it is an irrational number .
And hence proved.
