let us assume that 2/5root3 is a rational number.

therefore ,

2/5root3 = p/q where p and q are integers and q is not equal to 0

2/5 root 3 = a / b where a and b are co-prime .

therefore ;

root 3= 5a /2b

This contradicts the fact that root 3 is rational .

This is because of our wrong assumotion that 2/5 eoot 3 is a rational number.

Therefore it is a irrational number .
