We know that sq. root = x^{1/2}

& due to the property of exponents that if the exponents are same than it will be taken as common power.

So, 3^{1/2} + 2^{1/2} = (3 + 2)^{1/2}

= 5^{1/2} = \sqrt{5}

And we all know that root of prime numbers are always irrational.
