Let the triangle ABC

and AD it's altitude

then through the Pythagoras theorem we can find that

altitude = \frac{\sqrt{3}a}{2}

where a is any side of the triangle

Now,

On squaring both sides

AD^2 = (\frac{\sqrt{3}a}{2})^2

AD^2 = \frac{3a^2}{4}

4B^2 = 3a^2

Since we already stated that a is any side of equilateral triangle as all the sides are same

so,

4AD^2 = 3AB^2

Hence Proved........
