let us assume that ,
3+ root 5 is a rational number
therefore,
3+ root 5 = p/q
where p and q are integers , q is not equal to zero
by solving the equation,
3+root 5 = p/q
root 5 = p/q - 3
we know that root 5 is irrational
irrational is not equal to rational
so there occurs controversy that our assumption is wrong
so 3+root 5 is irrational
