To prove :5-√3 is a irrational number .

Proof :

rational number can be written in p/q

form and hence if a number cant be written in p/q form then it is irrational

So, 5-3 =p/q

5-p/q =3

5q-p/q =3

root of three is not written in p/q form

therefore it is an irrational number
