Now we know that  cosx = 2cos^{2 }\frac{x}{2}  - 1\\\\

that is                       2cos^2\frac{x}{2} = cosx +1\\

Now from (1)    cos^2\frac{x}{2} = \frac{1+cosx}{2} \\2cos^2\frac{x}{2} =1+cosx\\cosx +1 = cosx +1\\L.H.S. = R.H.S
