Let any natural no. be n.
for an even no. we make it as 2n.
for odd no. it can be written as 2n+1.
Now, squaring the odd no. we get,
(2n+1)² = (4n²+4n)+1
Here, 4n²+4n is even.
Now, when 1 is add it becomes odd always.
∴ we can say that if x is odd then x² is odd.
