Liquids have no fixed ahape since they take the shape of container in hich they are kept.

For e.g

Take some water in a beaker, observe its shape.now pour it slowly in a plate or a cup.one can easily observe a change in shape of the surface of liquid.

Liquids have definite volume. This can be explained as

Take 5ml water in beaker.now pour it in a test tube and measure it.you will observe that both the beaker and test tube contained 5ml of water with no difference in volume.(but shape changes)

Rate of diffusion in higer in liquids than solids since liquids have more intermolecular distance due to less intermolecular force of attraction.

Hence it would be easy for a particle to mix or diffuse in a liquid than solid since solids have much rigid structure.

Hope it helps
