distributive property Verified for Rational Number

Step-by-step explanation:

The distributive property :  multiply a sum by multiplying each addend separately and then add the products.

A ( B + C)  = AB  + AC

Let say Rational numbers

A = 2/3

B = 3/4

C = 5/4

LHS = A(B + C)

= (2/3) ( 3/4 + 5/4)

= (2/3) ( 8 /4)

= (2/3) 2

= 4/3

RHS = AB + AC

= (2/3)(3/4)  + (2/3)(5/4)

= 2/4   + 10/12

= 1/2 + 5/6

= 3/6 + 5/6

= 8/6

= 4/3

LHS = RHS
