let us assume that the line does not passes through centre

so take a point not on the line as a centre and through it draw a line towards tangent

now we know that radius is perpendicular to the tangent at the point of contact. so two different lines are perpendicular to the same point thats a contradiction.

hence centre does not lie outside the line

so it lies at the line
