Prove that the ratio of areas of two similar triangles is equal to the square of the ratio of

their corresponding sides.

Use the above theorem, in the following.

The areas of two similar triangles are 81 cm2

and 144 cm2

. If the largest side of the smaller

triangle is 27 cm, find the largest side of the larger triangle.
