Answer:

p(x) = ax^2 - 3(a-1) x-1

1 is the zero if polynomial p(x)

p(1) = 0

a1^2 - 3(a-1) x-1 = 0

a - 3a + 3 -1 = 0

- 2a + 2 = 0

a = -2/-2

a =2
