Firstly we will factorise x2-5x+6
=x2-5x+6
=x2-3x+2x+6
=x(x-3)+2(x+3)
=x(x-3)-2(x-3)
=(x-3) (x-2)
So we will now see
whether (x-3) and (x-2)
is a factor of x4 - 5x3 + 8x2 - 10x +12
p(x)= x4 - 5x3 + 8x2 - 10x +12
p(2)
=(2)4-5(2)3+8(2)2-10(2)+12
=16-40+32-20+12
=60-60
=0
now,
p(3)
=(3)4-5(3)3+8(3)2-10(3)+12
=81-135+72-30+12
=0
therefore
x4 - 5x3 + 8x2 - 10x +12
is divisible by x2 - 5x + 6.
hope it helpzzz
