x=a sec@ =>(x/a)=sec @..(I)
y=b tan @ =>(y/b)=tan @. (ii)
Also, sec ^2@ - tan ^2 @=1 ( Identity (
So, from eq(I) and (ii)
(x/a)^2 - (y/b)^2 =1
Hope it helps.
