dude any closed shape that a vector makes ................. the resultant is always zero

in a pentagon you consider the sides as vectors. you see that each vector starts at one vertex and ends at the adjacent vertex. so the fifth one ends at the point where the first one started, hence the sum of the vectors is zero.
