The side of a square hall is 15m each, if square tiles of side 1\2m each has to be used to pave the floor, how many tiles will be needed.? The tiles come from shop in boxes having 100 tiles in each box. How many boxes of tiles have to be purchased to cover the floor completely?

see, it goes like this
area of hall / area of 1 tile
= 15×15 / .5×.5 (convert in meteres )
= 225/ .25 = 900  tiles
i.e 900 tiles are needed and 9 boxes of tiles are required
