Number of electrons having ms=(-1/2) in Cr is ‘12’ because the atomic number of Cr is 24 and the electrons may have (+1/2)or(-1/2) spin.
But the minimum number of electrons are 10 as the electronic configuration of Cr is:

1s^2, 2s^2, 2p^6, 3s^2,3p^6,4s^1, 3d^5

So, the 2 unpaired electrons can be of (+1/2) spin.

Hope it will help you!!
