* peaceful protest is an effective way to register one's resistance

* citizens have a constitutional right to peaceful protest

* as it stems from the notion of non-violence, no harm is done to state or its citizens

* it has been successful in past and will continue to remain so

* its success proves that one need not take recourse to violence if he is determined to change the society

* violence is a symbol of weakness

b. It is act whereby people show their discontentment against a particular act of government , an act whereby people may demand system to be responsive to their needs.
c. People may express their dissent through dharnas, strikes, processions.
d. For example people protesting against any unpopular law, movement against corruption.
