Pupil size changes when protecting the eyes especially on the retina by preventing the excessive intensity of light coming into the eye. Explain why during the solar eclipse phenomenon, we need to see the occurrence on the surface of the water?

I)The eye requires a certain level of light intensity for the retina to process intoimages. ... A low level of light intensitywill result in the pupil dilating and allowing more light in. The change in shape of the lens is controlled by ciliary muscles which surround it, attached via the zonules.

Debate even swirls around a line from Homer'sOdyssey—"The sun has been obliterated from the sky"—and whether it can be tied to a historic eclipse.

Through the ages, the sudden darkening of the sun has been seen as a signal of the displeasure of the gods or an omen of bad things to come. But once astronomers figured out how solar eclipses worked, they became events to be studied and celebrated.
