Puzzle
A woman was carrying a basket of eggs to the market
when a passerby bumped into her. She dropped the
basket and all the eggs broke. The passerby, wishing
to pay for her loss, asked, “How many eggs were
in your basket?” “I don't remember exactly”, the
woman replied, “but I do recall that when I kept the
eggs in groups of 2, 3, 4, or 6, there was always an
egg left over. When I took the eggs out in groups of
seven, I emptied the basket.” How many eggs did
she have?

Answer:
Urm...49 eggs is what I think..
Step-by-step explanation:
Because-
If taken in groups of 7, there will be 7 eggs in each group, leaving no egg behind (just as she mentioned).
6 x 8 = 48
4 x 12 = 48
3 x 16 = 48
2 x 24 = 48
In each of these cases, 1 egg is left behind, just as the woman said.
So I think 49 eggs was there with the woman.
Hope this helps...
