Q1 Let the distance be X

The time for inward journey = T1

The time for return journey = T2

​T1= Distance/Speed= X/30

T2= X/45

Average speed = Total distance/ Total time taken = X+X/ T1+T2= 2X/(X/30+X/45) = 2X/(5X /90) = 2X/5X*90 = 36KM/HR

Q2 The total distance travelled by the bus is given by the area under the velocity - time curve

  Area under the curve = 0.5x10x100 + 100x20 + 0.5x12x100 =3100

Thus distance travelled by bus = 3100m
