(1) Check whether x = -3 is the root of the quadratic equation
x2 + 4 = 13.​

If we put (-3) at x ,

∴ (-3)² + 4 = 13

∴   9  +  4  =  13

∴   (-3) is the root of the quadratic equation  x² + 4 = 13.​
