Answer:

The original price of the tea per kg is Rs.80 per kg.                      Step-by-step explanation:

Given : One of tea and one kg of sugar together cost Rs.95. If the price of tea falls by 10% and that of sugar rises by 20% then the price of one kg of each combined comes to Rs.90.

To find : The original price of tea in Rs per kg is ?

Solution :

Let the price of 1 Kg of Tea be 'x'

Let the price of 1 Kg of Sugar be 'y'

According to question,

One of tea and one kg of sugar together cost Rs.95.

x+y=95 .....(1)

If the price of tea falls by 10% and that of sugar rises by 20% then the price of one kg of each combined comes to Rs.90.

(x-0.1x) + (y+0.2y) = 90

0.9x+1.2y= 90 ....(2)

Solving equation (1) and (2),

Substitute y from (1) in (2),

0.9x+1.2(95-x)= 90

0.9x+114-12.x= 90

-0.3x= 90-114

-0.3x=-24

x=\frac{24}{0.3}

x=80

Substitute in equation (1),

80+y=95

y=95-80

y=15

The original price of the sugar per kg is Rs.15 per kg.

Therefore, The original price of the tea per kg is Rs.80 per kg.
