Rahul was on his way to school one morning. He was walking to the bus stop at a fast
pace. He did not want to be late for the assembly.
As he was five metres away from the bus stop, he saw an old woman fall to the
ground. The three bulging bags she was carrying dropped to the ground. Apples and
oranges scattered all over and some eggs were broken. The old woman could not
stand on her own. She seemed to have fractured her ankle. Rahul put all the fruits
back into the bags and told the woman to wait for him. Rahul ran to the nearest
telephone booth to call for an ambulance. In five minutes, the ambulance came. The
old woman was sent to the hospital. Rahul heaved a sigh of relief and made his way
to school.
