He claims that there are rights, such as the right to life, to equality and to possession, which are built on the rules of every society. As part of the rationale to recognise a legitimate constitutional Order, Locke used the argument that men are inherently free & equal as a consequence of a social contract, in which citizens in the state of nature pass some of their rights conditionally to the order.
b) All the three estates paid taxes to the state. The third estate of the French business at that time was further split into three groups. The first type of estate was owned by major traders, merchants, courts, lawyers, etc. The second group included farmers and craftsmen. And small peasants, landless farmers and workers, were considered the lowest class in society and belonged to the third group. Third-estate members had to pay all taxes like dîmes & sizes.

(iii) marriage was conducted in the form of a contract that was entered freely & was registered under the civil law. (iv) divorce was made valid for both men & women & should be applied for. (v) Women may train for work, become artists or run small firms.
d) Long years of war had drained the financial resources of France. Strong maintenance expense for the massive palace and courtyard of Versailles.
