The diagonal of a square of side "s" is equal to s√2

Let the side of first square be S

and the side of second square be x

Then it is given that

 \frac{5}{2}  =  \frac{s \sqrt{2} }{x \sqrt{2} }

 \frac{5}{2 }  =  \frac{s}{x}

The area of first square =s^2

The area of second square =x^2

Ratio of area= Ar 1st square
