Q.1 The odometer of a car reads 40km. This indicates the:

It is given that the total distance travelled by the car is 2400 km-2000 km = 400 km, that is, 400000 m  and the total time taken =8 hours, that is, 8×60×60=28800seconds..

Average speed in km/hr = total distance/total time = 400/8 = 50 km/hr.

Average speed in m/s = total distance/total time = 400000/28800 = 13.89 m/s.
